House of Power is a South Australian-based not-for-profit charity that believes no one should have to go without life’s basic necessities. When times are tough, we know that even the most essential grocery items, can be out of reach. We provide discreet, compassionate, and practical essentials relief to lighten the load for individuals and families facing hardship.
Why we exists
House of Power was founded to ease the burden of those struggling to put food on the table. From pantry staples to essential household items, we strive to make a difference, one grocery bag at a time. Our motto, “From our house to yours”, reflects our deep commitment to treating everyone with dignity, care, and respect, just like family.

Our approach
Many people facing hardship struggle to ask for help due to fear of being judged or not knowing who to contact. In small regional communities, local grocers are often a natural connecting point and lifeline in remote areas. Store owners witness struggles firsthand, seeing people counting coins at the checkout and walking away from essential items they can’t afford.
Our approach is, therefore, simple yet impactful. We partner with local grocery stores in areas to offer preloaded Essential relief Cards, allowing recipients to access non-perishable household items from our purpose-built in-store vending machines in a way that respects their dignity and privacy.

By working with local communities, we can ensure that help is direct, accessible and hope remains within reach to ease daily burdens.

Collaborate with local independent grocers to integrate them as program partners to allow outreach into neighbouring towns or areas ensuring that support is accessible where it’s most needed.
